Grace M. Rossetti, 89, of Medway died February 11th, 2022 peacefully surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was the loving wife of Alfred P. Rossetti with whom she shared 60 years of marriage until his death in 2016.
She was born in Milford, April 15, 1932, daughter of the late John Ferrucci and Maria (Chiaramonte) Ferrucci. Grace was a 1949 graduate of Milford High School and continued her education at Milford Hospital School of Nursing in which she graduated in 1952. She was a Registered Nurse on the obstetrical floor at Milford Hospital for 42 years, taking time out to care for her children, and retiring in 1994.
Grace and her husband Freddie owned and operated the Brookside Lunch on Main Street from 1957-1960. The restaurant then relocated to the corner of Main and Holliston Street, renamed as Rossetti’s Restaurant, which they owned and operated for 18 years.
She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and a very active member of the Friends of Elders, volunteering many hours per week and catering numerous dinners at the center with Freddie. She was a 30-year Red Cross volunteer at local Blood Banks in Medway and Franklin. She also volunteered at the Medway High School polling location for many elections. Freddie and Grace were honored as the Grand Marshals of the 2011 Christmas Parade, and special guests to the town’s 300th anniversary celebration in 2013.
Her friends were family, whether it was a stroll around the halls at Mahan Circle, a trip to the casino, or sitting around the bridge table. She was so proud to be sponsoring her granddaughter Samantha in her upcoming confirmation in the Catholic Church. She will now be watching from above as her guardian angel. She will be sorely missed. Our hearts are heavy.
Grace is survived by two daughters, Mary Wills, her husband Randal of North Falmouth and Paula Boyd and her husband Robert of Franklin. She is also survived by her grandchildren Erica Rimmer and her husband Martin, Sarah Cadogan and her husband Thomas, Samantha Wills, Jason Wills, Christopher Boyd, and Mackenzie Boyd. She was the proud “GiGi” to her four great grandchildren - Emerson, Ivy, Blake and Wyatt. She is survived by her sister, Rita Abbondanza, and was sister to the late Elena Compagnone, John Ferrucci, and Arthur Ferrucci. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
