Bernice Labrador age 73, of Ashland, MA passed away on January 27, 2022. Born in Sandy Point, Nova Scotia Canada to the late Stephen and Rose (McEwan) Labrador. She was raised on the Mi ‘ kmaq Indian Brook reservation in Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia. She moved to the United States as a young woman and spent her years living in Massachusetts and Maine.
Survived by her children Stephen, Arlene, Christopher, Malissa, Scott, Eric and Kerry. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survived by her siblings Angus, Christopher, Gregory, Sylvia, Valerie, Linda, Rosalind, Anita and Betty. Also many brother and sister in laws, several nieces and nephews & extended family.
Predeceased by her siblings Stephen, Gordon, William and Elmer, Diane, Josephine, Audrey, Marjorie “Tootie’, Daphne and Genevieve.
A proud and strong Native American woman. A residential school survivor. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her beloved Boston Red Sox, bingo, reading, cooking for the holidays, decorating, nature, being near the water and putting together dinners for the residents of the Asland House in the community room. Where she resided for many years.
We are all deeply saddened by her loss and know that she is in the loving arms of our Creator and the great spirits that have gone before her.
Visiting hours will be held at The Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester Street, South Boston on Saturday February 19 from 12:00-4:00P.M.
