Obituary

CHICOPEE – Monique T. Morin, 88, of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, February 10, 2022. She passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Lac-Megantic, Province of Quebec, Canada on June 4, 1933, a beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Lina (Pilotte) Morin. She was raised in Canada, lived in Berlin, New Hampshire and later moved to Chicopee in June of 1963. She was last employed in the Quality Control Department at Moore Drop Forge Company, now Easco Hand Tools, in Springfield. She was a longtime communicant of the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Chicopee where she was a member of the Ladies Sodality of the Church. She was currently a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. She was a member of the Franco American Women’s Club, Les Dames Francaise, the Golden Agers and the Uniroyal Travel Club. Most of all, she was a loving mother who showered her daughters with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She leaves her three devoted daughters, Lise M. Denault and her husband, Kenneth, of Belchertown, Gaetanne M. Isabelle of Granby and her partner, Jarel Woods, of South Hadley and Dee Thomas and her beau, Dave, of Anchorage, AK; her cherished grandson, Craig R. Moreau and his wife, Sarah Dupuis, of Kensington, CT; her four dear brothers and two dear sisters, Roland Morin and his wife, Laureanne, Bertrand Morin and his wife, Monique, Clement Morin, Maurice Morin and his wife, Rejeanne, Jeanne Morin and her partner, Claude, and Louise Morin, all of Canada; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends and extended family members in the United States and Canada. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her five dear brothers, Arthur, Lucien, Ernest, Romeo and Jean-Guy; and her four dear sisters, Rita, Rollande, Fernande and Juliette. Her Funeral will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
