Susan M. Mello, 60, of New Bedford passed peacefully Thursday, February 10, 2022 at St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by her family. She was the beloved partner of Richard Carr and devoted mother of Eric Souza, Kristen Pimental, and Meagan Elizabeth Souza.
Susan had a great love of family. She enjoyed spending time with her children and especially her five grandchildren. She also enjoyed visiting with her mother Louise (Benoit) Motta of Attleboro.
As of late she discovered her love of animals and truly enjoyed spending time with Meg's dog, Cookie.
Susan enjoyed live shows and was fond of going to the Providence Performing Arts Center and the Zeiterion Theater. She also enjoyed going fishing with her son Eric. In her younger days, she loved riding motorcycles and listening to music.
She is survived by her longtime companion, Rick; her mother, Louise; her three children, Eric, Kristen, and Meg; her five grandchildren, Jackson, Alexis, Mackenzie, Aiva, and Jordyn; her brother, Casey Gomes of California; her sister, Christine Alexander of Maine; and many nieces, nephews, and loving cousins.
Her Funeral Mass will be held Friday, February 18, 2022 at 9:30am at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 121 Mt. Pleasant St., New Bedford, with everyone meeting directly at Church.
