Richard M. Espinoza Sr. 91, died peacefully in his sleep on Monday Feb. 7, 2022 in Oxnard, Ca. Richard was born in Piru, Ca. to Bernardo and Dela Espinoza on May 22, 1931. Richard lived the majority of his life and made many friends in Ventura, Ca. He joined the Laborers Union at the age of 21. He worked in construction for most of his life, later specializing in cement finishing. After serving 28 years, he retired at the age of 49. With a few months of inactivity, he worked for JC Penny's for another 14 years as graveyard custodian where he took his final retirement at the age of 63.
Richard enjoyed working outside in his garden and building dog houses in his garage for all of the beloved family pets.
Richard is survived by his son Richard M Espinoza Jr., his wife Traci, daughter Cathy Baloyo and her husband Arnel. He has 4 grandchildren, Jessica Valencia and her husband David, Alexis and Nicolas Baloyo, and Nicole Curley and her husband Josh. He has 4 great grandchildren, Hayden and Gianna Valencia, Macey and Jaden Curley. He was survived by 7 nieces and 3 nephews. He will join his siblings, brothers George, Frank, and Bernie, sisters, Sally Castro, and Ruby Mata.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Assisted Home Health Hospice Care as well as Sue Ellen caregivers agency.
A Mass celebrating Richard's life will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Mulcahy Center, Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 10:30am with Father Leon of Our Lady of the Assumption Church officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, Ventura.
