Obituary

On Tuesday, February 8, 2022, Doris A. (DeLalla) Bottoni, 91, of Pine Hill Drive, Cranston, passed over peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Vincent J. Bottoni, who passed away on April 14th, 2020.

Born in Providence, Doris was the daughter of the late Ida (Falcone) and Sylvester “Sid” DeLalla. She was the wife of the late Vincent J. Bottoni for 57 wonderful years. Doris was an employee of American Surety Insurance Company for many years before retiring to raise her family.

Doris is survived by her children, Donna (Bottoni) Corcoran and her husband Brian of Cranston, and Ronald Bottoni and his wife Kristen (D’Arezzo) of North Providence. She leaves behind her sister, Joan (DeLalla) Schadone of Smithfield and her children Cheryl (Schadone) Cohen and her late husband Ed, and Gregory Schadone, his wife Tina and their two children, Danielle and Matthew. Doris left behind an everlasting impact on her four grandchildren, Samantha Bottoni, Brianna Corcoran, Alexandra Corcoran and her fiancé Adam, Joseph Bottoni, and her great-granddaughter, Ava Carreiro. Doris also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she loved so dearly.

Aside from being a wonderful mother, Doris was the most amazing grandmother. She cherished each moment she shared with Samantha, Brianna, Alexandra and Joseph. When Alexandra and her fiancé, Adam, welcomed their daughter, Ava, in March 2021, Doris couldn’t be any prouder to take on the role of being a great-grandmother. Although their time together was short, her love for Ava was unquestionable. Their bond was far beyond unique, and the memories will live on forever.

Those who knew Doris knew she was the best cook and baker. Her infamous rice pilaf and pound cake were always looked forward to at every family event. She was very family oriented and would have done anything for the ones she loved. Doris will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, February 15, at 11am in Saint Augustine Catholic Church, 20 Old Road, Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation will be Monday 4-7pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville.
