Obituary

Ralph Kenneth Williams, 92, of Enigma passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at his residence surrounded by family. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Marv Williams and the Rev. Blair Joiner officiating. Mr. Williams will be laid to rest at Oakey Grove Church Cemetery in Berrien County. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 11, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mr. Williams’ grandson, Cory Proctor, and his great-grandsons, Brandon Prickett, Andrew Prickett, Matthew Prickett, Maclain Sewell and Joshua Hennum will serve as pallbearers.

Born November 15, 1929, in Berrien County, Mr. Williams was the son of the late Frank E. Williams and Fannie James Williams. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Faye Register Williams, who died in 2012; an infant son, Felton Ray Williams, who died in 1955; two brothers, Eugene Williams and Curtis Williams; and three sisters, Christine Whitley, Aneta Peele and Nadine Pearman.

Mr. Williams served four years in the United States Air Force and four years in the Air Force Reserves. He then returned home to Enigma in 1956 to farm. He was active in the Berrien County Young Farmers.

In his younger years, he loved to go fishing and bird hunting. He loved being outdoors on his farms and thoroughly enjoyed his tractors. Even up to the last couple of months, he still wanted someone to help him get up on his tractor. Although they never replaced his tractors, he could be seen riding his Ranger or his golf cart around the farm.

Mr. Williams is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Dale Williams of Monroe and Mike and Teresa Williams of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Dennis Proctor of Enigma; one sister, Alma Richardson of West Berrien; and special caretaker, Pansy Crosby of Tifton. He had seven grandchildren, Missy Prickett, Jeannie Hennum, Jennifer Sewell, Jill Grimes, Tara Williams Riner, Cory Proctor and Erin Proctor Gay; twelve great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of Tiftarea, P. O. Box 747, Tifton, GA 31793.
