Eleanor J. (Nebelkopf) Estrella, 63, of New Bedford, died unexpectedly on Sunday, February 6, 2022. She was the former wife of Douglas C. Thatcher.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late George McGee and Virginia McCutcheon.
Eleanor loved helping people. She enjoyed working in the New Bedford school system teaching kids life skills. She especially loved her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Sarah Estrella, Cole Thatcher, and Shane Thatcher, all of New Bedford; her siblings, Arthur, Alfred, and Robert McGee, Daniel and Kurt Johnson, and Roberta Tesoriero; and her grandkids, Tyler Correia, Tristen Collins, Trynity Lovegrove, and Cleo Thatcher.
She is predeceased by her siblings, James, John, George, and Thomas McGee, Susan Michalski, Marianne Spinosa, and Catherine Connearney.
Her memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, February 12th, from 1 to 4 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
