James Steven Lucas, 35, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022 after a tragic car accident. He was the loving husband of Ali (Torrice) Lucas. Married in 2013 and together for over 10 years, they were expecting their first child later this month.
Jim was born in Lowell on July 16, 1986, the son of Gary and Debbie (Fleury) Lucas. He lived in Tewksbury for a few years before his family relocated to Chelmsford. He enjoyed spending summers at Newfound Lake with family from the time he was two months old. A passionate and gifted musician, he could play any song on guitar or piano by ear. He enjoyed playing with his former bands, going to concerts, and listening to a vast collection of music. He loved good food and was on a quest for the best roast beef. An avid car enthusiast, he attended car shows with his ‘69 Cadillac and loved talking to others about classic cars. He managed his family auto repair shop, Advanced Automotive in Wilmington, a third generation business, and worked there for 15 years. He had an incredible sense of humor and loved making people laugh.
Besides his wife Ali and daughter Ruby of Tyngsboro, and his parents Gary and Debbie Lucas of Dracut, he is survived by his sisters Kerry MacLeod and her husband Jason of Derry, NH, and Kristen Karabelas and fiancé Mike Jandrew of Dracut; brothers-in-law Dave Torrice and his wife Sarah of Andover, and Sam Torrice and fiancé Michelle Muise of Billerica; sister-In-law Becca Torrice and her partner Seth Haven of Vermont. Mother-in law and father-in-law Joan and James Torrice of Billerica; grandmother Claire Lucas of Pelham, NH; and grandmother-in-law Laura Morrow of Woburn. Late grandparents James Lucas, Normand and Shirley Fleury. He was a loving and playful uncle to Kendra, Charlotte, Sophia, Lydia, and Sawyer. He will be missed dearly by family, many close friends, and devoted customers.
A celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
