Frank Lobao, age 62, of Lowell passed away peacefully on February 6th with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal on December 4, 1959 and was a son of the late Francisco and the late Alexandrina (Reis) Lobao. He was raised in Lowell and was a graduate of Greater Lowell Technical High School.
Frank worked at Interstate Container for 18 years prior to his illness in 2020. He enjoyed spending time with family, supporting all the Boston sports teams – especially the Bruins and the New England Patriots. He was always the leader in the fun times at Gillette Stadium outings. Frank was a devoted “Grampie” to his grandsons, something he was most proud of. He loved teaching them new things, including the value of family and always made sure they were taken care of. He also loved music - you could find him rockin out to everyone from AC/DC to Luke Combs and making friends at every concert he attended.
Frank is survived by his daughter, Cassandra Lobao, her fiancé, Wilfredo Cepeda, grandchildren Jackson and Adriel, sister Maria Olga Bettencourt and her husband Francisco; sister Alexandrina Baker; sister Maria Alice DaSilva; sister-in-law Maria Lobao, and brother-in-law Olimpio Silva.
In addition, he leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family both in North America, Azores, and mainland Portugal.
He was also the brother of the late Antonio Lobao, Raul Lobao, Maria Fatima Silva, Madalena Cunha, and John Lobao; brother-in-law to the late Maria Emilia Lobao, and Lionel (Peter) Baker.
