Daniel Francis Hogan 88 years old of Medford, MA beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully on February 5, 2022.
Born in Medford, MA on December 15, 1933 to the late Joseph and Mildred Hogan.
Dan was enlisted in the US Airforce from 1952 and was stationed in the Philippines during the Korean War as a Staff Sargent. He was honorably discharged in 1955.
Dan shared 58 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Dorothy (Kelley) Hogan. Together they raised 3 sons; Danny, Johnny and Tommy.
Later, Dan worked as an electrician for Molten Electric and was an active member of the Medford Fire Department, retiring after 38 years as Captain.
Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Dan knew him for his strong work ethic, deep devotion to his Catholic faith and love of going to church. Dan could be seen walking to work in his uniform stopping to talk with members of the Medford community. One of his favorite past times was woodworking and making gifts for family and friends. He always carved his initials and date hidden in each piece of his gift making a sort of “hide n seek” game for the receiver to find them. He had an unwavering love for his family and was a true gentleman. His loving personality and gentle mannerisms will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.
Dan is survived by his three sons; Daniel Hogan Jr. and wife Patty of Beverly, MA, John Hogan and wife Deverie of Paso Robles, Ca. and Thomas Hogan and fiancé Debi of Brentwood, NH. Dan is also survived by his granddaughter Tyler Hogan of Paso Robles, CA, grandsons Daniel and wife Kristen, Cody, Derek and his granddaughter Casey Hogan.
