Obituary

John P. "Jack" Hogan, a resident of Winthrop and formerly of Charlestown and Naples, Florida, entered into eternal life on Monday, February 7, 2022 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. He was 75 years of age.

Jack was born in Boston on April 8, 1946, a son of the late Patrick F. Hogan and Concetta (DeLuca) Hogan. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Bostron Public School system and attended Boston English High School and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1965. Jack worked for the MBTA and retired in 1991 as a Supervisor following 23 years of dedicated employment. He was a member of the MBTA Inspectors Union Local # 600. Following his retirement from the "T", Jack worked for 15 years at Paul Revere Transportation in Winthrop. He was a member of The Bunker Hill Associates and Bunker Hill Council # 62, Knights of Columbus. He was an avid Boston sports fan and in the earlier days of the Patriots he was a season ticket holder. He enjoyed his weekly gathering with the breakfast club in Lynnfield, traveling to North Conway and other parts of New Hampshire and Maine for family vacations. He was a car fanatic and in his spare time he enjoyed playing cards. Family was paramount in Jack's life and he was always ready to entertain at a family gathering where he enjoyed the quality moments he shared with each one he loved so dearly.

Jack is the beloved husband of 54 years to Linda J. (Hennessey) Hogan. He is the devoted father of Patrick Hogan and his wife Barbara, Colleen Huether and her husband Michael and John P. Hogan Jr. and his wife Taylor. He is the loving Papa to Kathleen & her fiance Brendan, Jake, Ryan, Ella, Jack and Papa GG to Collin. He is the beloved brother of Connie Tracy and her late husband Tom, retired Boston Police Sergeant Detective Thomas Hogan and his wife Ann and Joanne Hogan. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jack's Funeral on Monday morning, February 14, 2022 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M.(FACIAL COVERINGS ARE REQUIRED INSIDE CHURCH). His burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in West Roxbury. His visiting hours will be on Sunday, February 13, 2022 from 2 to 6 P.M. in the funeral home.
