Mildred R. (Chambers) McNeil, a resident of Melrose and formerly of Charlestown and Everett, entered into eternal life on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. She was 77 years of age.
Mildred was born in Boston on April 28, 1944, a daughter of the late James A. Chambers and Rita (Casatetto) Chambers. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated throughout the Boston Public School system. She was a hairdresser for many years. In her spare time, she loved to sew and create beautiful clothes for herself and others.
Mildred is the mother of Cheryl Lanigan and her husband Robert of Framingham, Kenneth McNeil and his wife Sharon of Cookville, Tennessee and Gena Lucas and her husband Brian of Foley, Alabama. She is the grandmother of Tiffany, Kenny, Brian, Shana and great-grandmother of Zachary, Giada and Kai. She is the sister of Daniel Chambers, Paul Chambers, Theresa Scali, James Chambers and the late Barbara Chambers. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mildred's Graveside Service on Thursday morning, February 10, 2022 at 11 A.M. in Woodlawn Cemetery, 302 Elm St. Everett. (PLEASE MEET INSIDE MAIN ENTRANCE OF CEMETERY BY 10:45 A.M.) There are no funeral home visiting hours.
