Nancy D. (Raposa) (Decilorami) Minnie, 73, of Groton, CT, passed away, Wednesday February 2, 2022, at her home surrounded by her children. Mrs. Minnie was born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Joseph and Juliette (Ballard) Raposa of Fall River Massachusetts. The youngest of six children, Mrs. Minnie relocated to Connecticut where she lived for many years.
She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxillary Post #9 in New London for several years.
Nancy was a flower child of the 60’s and loved the music of Janis Joplin. She worked as a painter and also administrative assistant at General Dynamics for many years and went on to obtain a degree in administration. She was an avid animal lover, and had numerous beloved animals in her life, including her beloved cat “Mama”. She enjoyed spending time with her children, watching movies, playing computer games, and going for walks with her daughter. She had a funny sense of humor and quick wit. She will be deeply missed by her children and family.
She is survived by her son Michael Decilorami of Groton; a daughter Kelly Decilorami of Gales Ferry, a brother Raymond Tolley of Tiverton, RI; 2 sisters Carol Kalif of Rehoboth, MA; Barbara Guay of Durham, NC; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother Jerry and sister Joan.
