Ellen Ann Cormier, who loved to be called “Momma” by her kids and “Mrs. C.” by others peacefully passed in her sleep at home with her loving family early Saturday, February 5, 2022.
Ellen was born in Springfield, MA on December 26,1931 to Mildred Costello-O’Connor and George O’Connor. She attended Mercy Hospital School of Nursing where she attained her RN license.
Ellen loved walks on the beach, babies, reading, watching her shows, her beloved Red Sox, and feeding her family “did you have enough!” And let’s not forget her “boyfriend” Mario Lopez, whom she actually met. She spent many good times having dinner chats at the table or on the deck with her Manhattan. Everyone who met her immediately fell in love with her magnetic personality, charming demeanor, and unapologetic honesty.
She is survived by her son, Kevin Cormier and his wife Wendy Drake of Exeter, NH; daughter Kathleen Bergeron and husband Gary Bergeron of Easthampton, MA where she lived; her brother John O’Connor of Sun City, FL; her grandchildren Stephanie Berry and her husband Tom Berry of Chicago, IL, Sara Cormier of Torrance, CA, Joshua Bergeron of Holyoke, MA, Alicia Bergeron of South Hadley, MA and Stephanie and Sara’s mother JoAnn Cormier. Additionally, her beloved kitty cat Myrtle.
Predeceased by siblings; Mary “Patty” Maccini, Jacqueline “Jackie” Bryant, George “Butch” O’Connor, and nephews Peter Maccini and “Stevie” Bryant.
Services will be private, and in honor of their love Ellen’s ashes will be spread with Freddy’s in Surfside Beach, SC where they lived for thirteen years.
