Joseph P. Szylkonis, Jr., 75, a resident of Medway since 1958, died Thursday, February 3, 2022, at the Milford Regional Medical Center.
Born in Newton on March 9, 1946, he was the son of Joseph “Pete” Szylkonis, Sr. of Medway and the late Catherine “Kay” (Hicks) Szylkonis.
Joe graduated from the former Marian High School in Framingham and attended Boston College.
He was a longtime janitor at the Medway VFW Post 1526.
Joe loved the Grateful Dead and most 60’s and 70’s music and enjoyed collecting model trains and railroads.
In addition to his father, he is survived by two brothers, George Szylkonis of Medway and Tom Szylkonis of Goodyear, Arizona as well as his niece Dena Szylkonis of Medway.
Burial will take place privately at St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Joe’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
