James G. ‘Jim’ Estabrook, 75 of Tewksbury, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 4, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Lynn, Ma on March 11, 1946 and was a son of the late George and Anna Estabrook. He was raised in Lynn, where he attended the area schools, graduating from Lynn Technical High School. Shortly after high school, he enlisted with the United States Navy, proudly serving until his honorable discharge in 1970.
After his discharge, he worked as a truck driver for many years with various companies including, Winslow Chips and Notini’s. He also drove a taxi with Tom’s Taxi in Lynn. He was a dedicated and hard worker.
Jim enjoyed playing darts and pool and was in various leagues over the last several years. He was notorious for his performance on karaoke night. He collected sports cards and memorabilia. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially summers in Kennebunkport.
Jim is survived by his children, including, Thomas M. Estabrook and his wife, Jill Ann of Peabody, Timothy J. Estabrook and his wife, Maria Grace of East Granby, CT, Steven James Estabrook of Hollywood, FL, Lisa Jean Estabrook, and Laurie Ann Estabrook both of Lynn; his siblings including, Donald Estabrook of Lynn, Donna Kane of Lynn, Leo Estabrook of Gloucester, Frannie Darras of Peabody, Georgia Herrick of North Dakota, Jo-Ann Richards of Lynn and Carol Cotter of Exeter. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Noah, Landon, Brady, and Shea; the mother of his children, Patricia (McHale) Broughton of Peabody; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Jim was predeceased by his longtime girlfriend, the late Mary Jo Carter who passed away in 2016.
On Friday, February 11, 2022 all are welcome to attend his calling hours from 5-7 p.m. at the Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury 978-851-2061. His funeral service with United States Navy honors will take place in the funeral home at 7 p.m
