C. Herman McIntyre, 78, of Irwinville, Georgia, died Friday, February 4, 2022, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Irwinville Baptist Church in Irwinville, Georgia, with Elder Edward McIntyre and the Rev. Ed Reeves officiating. Interment will follow in Irwinville Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the sanctuary on Tuesday.
Mr. McIntyre was born December 14, 1943, in Irwin County, Georgia, the only child of the late Paul & Rosa Mae Young McIntyre. He graduated from Irwin County High School and served his country honorably in the National Guard. His first job was at Hudson Chevrolet. He went on to work for Irwinville Peanut & Grain and Planters Warehouse. He retired from the Ben Hill County Road Department. Mr. McIntyre loved to ride his Kubota as he patrolled his property and the entire Irwinville community. He enjoyed shaking pecan trees but was the happiest when gathering with his family. He always enjoyed a good meal and being waited on by his wife. His infectious smile will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a Mason and a member of Irwinville Lodge #315, F.&A.M. as well as a member and deacon of Irwinville Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Apricot Wilson McIntyre; a son, Paul & Amanda McIntyre; a daughter, April & Robby Dixon, all of Irwinville; grandchildren: Paulyna & Shaw Pilcher, Brady McIntyre, and Gunner Douglas; and a great-granddaughter, Harlynn Pilcher.
