CHICOPEE – Arthur L. “Art” Beauregard, 89, a longtime resident of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, February 4, 2022. He passed into Eternal Life at Mont Marie Health Care Center in Holyoke surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family and his wonderful caregivers. He was born in Holyoke on December 30, 1932, a beloved son of the late Joseph Beauregard and Rose Anna (Gagnon) Beauregard Drouin. He was raised in Holyoke and lived in the city for many years. He later lived in South Hadley and eventually settled on Oakridge Street in Fairview where he lived for many years. Arthur served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army and attained the rank of Private First Class and received the Army of Occupational (Germany) Medal. Following his military service, he returned to Western Massachusetts and was employed as a printer at the former Hitchcock Press in Holyoke and later for Milton Bradley in East Longmeadow. He was a longtime active member of the Tigers Athletic Club in Chicopee Falls where he served the club as a Baseball Coach. He was also a 32-year member of the East Longmeadow American Legion Post 293. He enjoyed spending time at the Moose Family Center in Chicopee. During his leisure time, Art enjoyed golfing, woodworking and working on stained glass projects. He was an avid New York Giants and Boston Red Sox fan. He previously lived at Day Brook Village Senior Living in Holyoke where he served as their resident “DJ” and played records for the residents. As his health declined, he became a resident of Mont Marie in Holyoke where he was affectionately known as the “Music Man” because of his singing to the nurses and staff. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Nancy R. (Hamel) Beauregard who was Called Home on February 4, 1987; his loving son-in-law, Casimir J. “Casey” Pasternak who was Called Home on January 22, 2022; his dear brother, Joseph Beauregard; his two dear sisters, Doris Upton and Eva Knox; and his longtime companion, Marjorie Blowers. He leaves his three loving children, Lynn A. Pasternak of Chicopee, Gary A. Beauregard and his wife, Joanne, of South Hadley and Glenn M. Beauregard and his wife, Tara, of Granby; his six cherished grandchildren, Cheryl Pasternak, Amy Walsh and her husband, Brian, Daniel Beauregard and his wife, Stephanie, Jeffrey Beauregard, Abigail Beauregard and Mallory Beauregard; his two cherished great-grandchildren, Taylor and Logan Walsh; his dear sister, Beatrice Thomas of South Hadley; his two dear brothers, Theodore “Teddy” Beauregard of Chicopee and Roger Beauregard of Holyoke; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends and extended family members. His Funeral Services will be private and his Burial with United States Army Military Honors will be private at Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley. There are no visiting hours. His funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home.
