Thomas J. Hannan Jr., a lifelong resident of Malden, passed away on February 4, 2022, peacefully at home. He was 84 years old.
Thomas was a United States Army Veteran and a retired firefighter from the Malden Fire Department. He also worked for the Vocell Bus Company for over 20 years and was a member of the Malden Moose, Ancient Order of Hibernians, American Legion and the Irish American.
Thomas was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Schulz) Hannan. He was the loving father of Tammy Mullin and her husband Jeff Wittland and Kelly Hanley and her partner Robert Clemente. Thomas was the brother of Joanne Grover and her husband John, Ethelmae Glenn and her husband Thomas, Patricia Feeley, and the late Barbara Amico and Peggy Archer. He was the grandfather of Megan Turmenne, Christine Mullins, Kerri Brackenridge, and great grandfather of Lucy, Nathan and Remy. Thomas was the brother in-law of John Schulz and his wife Pat, Katherine Schulz, Karen Schulz and her wife Connie, and his best friend James Schulz and his wife Melissa. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many friends.
The funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Tuesday February 8th at 10:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4-7pm. Interment will be in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
