Lue Vena was born in Pine Knot Kentucky to Homer Levi and Ada Ethel Creekmore in 1928; her greatest joy was being a mother to her children and a wife to her husband (Earl Edward Stephens).
Earl and Lue Vena were married for 73 years, during those years they lovingly had 8 children 4 boys and 4 girls. Danny Stephens (Donna) Indianapolis, Indiana, Doris Brooks (David) Campbellsville, Kentucky, Dora Bryant (Bennie) Louisville, Kentucky, Doyle Stephens (Sharon) Richmond, Virginia, Jeannie Dykes (Jeff) Somerset, Kentucky, Eddie Stephens (Ruth) Somerset, Kentucky, Johnnie Stephens (Trish) Somerset, Kentucky, Debra Turner Anderson, Indiana.
Mom was famous for her biscuits and gravy, and anything southern fried. She loved flowers and definitely had a green thumb at it. Mom loved the Lord and going to church. She truly missed after becoming unable to attend. Mom loved her children and every little bone in us or so she would say. Mom loved to shop and buy dresses. But MOST of all my mom was a diva. She absolutely loved me doing her hair and make up. She’d rather eat a home cooked meal than going out to eat. Mom loved watching the Walton’s, Golden girls and Gun smoke. Our Mother lived a long loving life of 93 years. She will be missed terribly.
Lue Vena was preceded in death by her father and mother, Homer & Ethel Creekmore; husband, Earl Edward Stephens; son, Dennis Edward Stephens (Eddie); grandson, Jeffrey DeWayne Turner II; brothers, Estel, A.Z. & Kenneth and sisters, Lena & Nena.
Lue Vena is survived by children Danny, Doris, Dora, Doyle, Jeannie, Johnnie, Debbie and 16 grandchildren, Michelle, Brian & Cindy, Darrell, Sherry & Tammy, Doyle Jr., Justin, Cory, Stacy & Christy, Jason & Shawn, Christopher, Brad, Sheena; many, many great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.
