Shirley A. (Termini) Howard, age 86 of Brockton, died peacefully at her home on January 31, 2022. Shirley was the wife of the late Robert R. Howard. Born, raised and educated in Lee, MA she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Eileen (LeSage) Termini. Shirley earned her LPN degree from College of Lake County in Grayslake, Illinois. For many years she was a private duty nurse and also a hospice nurse for Old Colony Hospice.
She was a longtime volunteer and fundraiser for various local organizations, including political campaigns for the city of Brockton.
Shirley was a compassionate, strong-willed woman with a great sense of humor. Watching her family grow and noting their accomplishments was a special part of her life. She was also a longtime member of the Red Hat Society.
Shirley was the mother of Michelle Leedberg and her husband Ray “Butch” Jr. of Brockton, Heather Gerring of Brockton and the late Edmund R. Decker. She was the grandmother of Ashley, Megan and Nicole Leedberg and Vanessa, Dimetrius and Darius Gerring and great grandmother of Matthew. Shirley was the sister of Fran Moretti, Mary Walker and the late Joseph, Jimmy, Sam, Charles, Beatrice and Jean.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Monday, February 7 from 10am-12pm. A prayer service will be held at 12 noon, followed by burial in Melrose Cemetery. Donations in Shirley’s name may be made to Brockton VNA Hospice, 500 Belmont Street, Ste 200, Brockton, MA 02301.
