William Patrick Joseph Cleary a resident of Andover and beloved husband of Doreen (Borbas) Cleary passed away on February 3, 2022. He was 71 years old.
Born in Somerville, Massachusetts on February 28, 1950, he was the beloved son of the late William J. P. and Virginia (Murphy) Cleary. Bill was a US Navy veteran. He was retired as an Electrical Foreman from the Boston Globe where he had been employed for more than 25 years. Bill was also a licensed builder and founder/owner of Cleary Associates, a family company that specialized in building and restoring homes.
He was a longtime member as a Journeyman Electrician of the IBEW Local 103. He was also a gifted musician and had a special love for history and historical architecture.
Bill was best known for his kind heart, unwavering love for family and friends and as a master of story telling. He grew up in Medford and was a graduate of Don Bosco.
Bill built a beautiful family with the “love of his life” Doreen. He was fiercely proud of his tight knit family and the love they have for each other. He is the father to William J Cleary and his wife Christine of Andover, Robyn (Cleary) Magenheim and her husband Neil of Andover, Laura (Cleary) Cardillo and her husband Joe of Andover and Tim Cleary and his wife Whitney of North Andover, as well as, the loving grandfather to 11 grandchildren Billy, Zoe, Logan, Lila, Joey, Ryan, Finn, Haley, Simon, Nick and Myles. He was also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Chapel at West Parish Garden Cemetery, 129 Reservation Road, Andover on Monday, February 7, 2022, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend. Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Sunday, February 6, 2022, from 2 to 6 PM. Interment will be privately held.
