Lorraine M. Miller, a lifelong Medford resident, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 28, 2022. She was 71.
Lorraine is the beloved daughter of the late Herbert (Buddy) and late Joan (Fitzpatrick) Miller. She is the dear sister of Kathy Cushing (Billy), Timothy Miller (Susan), Donald Miller (Sharon), Christine Ziobro (Rick), and Richard Miller (Alice). She is the cherished godmother and aunt of Gretchen Cesar and Ericka Ziobro. She is the loving aunt of Melissa Ziobro, Heidi Cushing-Candelario, Rebecca Ciampoli, Rachel Reynolds, Richard Ziobro, Jason Miller, Ryan Miller, Jessica Frongillo, Peter Ziobro, Kevin Miller, Crystal Aliberte, Samantha Kirwan, and Madison Gardner. She is the proud grandaunt of Christian, Liam, Lila, Kaia, Colton, Jonah, Jacob, Brea, Callan, Tristan, Brandon, Lucas, Brenna, Hazel, Calista, Brodie, Sadie, Caiden, and Harrison.
Lorraine was a 1968 graduate of Medford High School. She retired from the US Postal Service as a supervisor following a career that spanned over 40 years. Lorraine was a lifelong learner who pursued her passions in education, psychology, and nursing at Mass Bay Community College and Salem State University. She was an accomplished pianist who studied piano and voice at Berklee College of Music. She was a Notary Public and a Justice of the Peace for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Lorraine was an avid reader and baker. She was known for her creative recipes and daily motivational posts. She was an animal lover and the dogs she treasured over the years were eager to greet her at the rainbow bridge. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Due to Covid restrictions, funeral services will be private. As an expression of sympathy, contributions may be made in Lorraine’s memory to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Avenue, Salem, MA 01970 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
