Josephine P. “Pat” Green, 75, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM, Saturday, February 5, 2022, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla, Georgia, with the Rev. Mike Green and the Rev. Larry Dean officiating. Interment will follow in Brushy Creek Cemetery, Irwin County, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
Mrs. Green was born November 22, 1946, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Walter Lewis Carey and the late Martha Glennis Peters Carey. She worked in a cabinet shop as well as a sewing factory in Fairburn. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to cut the fool with those she loved. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Fairburn and attended Riverbend Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Shirley & Bobby Freeman of Macon, Victoria & Charlie Peters of Barnesville, Allen & Dawn Green of Atlanta, Alton Black of Ocilla, and Renea & Bill Raymond of Newnan, 29 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Pearl Perry of Newnan and Audrey Ferguson of McDonough; and three brothers: Cleveland Carey of Lagrange, Leon Carey of Fairburn, and Oliver & Leoma Carey of Tyrone. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bailey Adolphus “Dot” Green; daughters: Rachel Chapman, Lawanna Carey, Debbie Moretz, and Sharon Bunn; and two brothers: Wayne Carey and Zyndell Carey.
