Ilana M. Pounds (57), resident of Franklin, MA, and former resident of NY & OH, was an avid traveler, Cleveland Browns super-fan, and home chef (known for the best mac & cheese). She departed this life on February 2, 2022 to reconnect with her parents, James Oglesby and Sylvia Taylor (both of whom preceded her in death).
Alumna of John Adams HS, Ilana was employed as Office Manager for her husband’s trucking company; yet her most rewarding job was as a loving, supportive mother to her three boys...always laughing at their shenanigans.
Fun-loving and the life of the party, Ilana never missed the opportunity to use the gifts of service and giving that God bestowed upon her...touching the lives of many through her work at a women and children’s shelter and as a spirited youth cheerleading coach. Perhaps her greatest contribution was to the lives and hearts that she touched daily through her generosity, as she never met a stranger and never declined an offer to help anyone.
Ilana leaves to cherish her memory: Best friend and husband of 40 years, James A. Pounds, Sr.; three sons: Darnell, James Jr. (Tashara), and Michael; brothers and sisters, Albert (Cori), Charles, Carlynn (deceased) and Francine; beloved cousin Angelia; nine grandchildren; and a host of devoted relatives and friends.
The Pounds family would like to express their sincere appreciation with love and gratitude for the many comforting messages and acts of kindness shown to our family during our time of loss.
May God Bless each one of you!
