Eleanor (Theriault) Tarnowski of Peabody, MA (originally of Salem, MA), beloved wife, mother,grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully on January 28, 2022 following a brief illness. Known for her warm smile, gentle laugh, and generous heart, Eleanor will be deeply missed by all of those who knew and loved her.
Born in Salem, MA to the late Henry Theriault and Alma (Beaulieu) Theriault, Eleanor was a longtime resident of Salem and worked at establishments such as Almy’s Department store, the General Glover Restaurant, and Spry Candy all the while raising and taking care of her five children. Eleanor and her husband Robert shared 74 wonderful years of marriage together of which they were inseparable. She dedicated her life to raising and caring for her family which was evident in the many stories and memories she often shared. In her spare time, Eleanor loved cooking, knitting, puzzles, and above all spending time with her family.
After a loving lifetime together, Eleanor’s husband Robert Tarnowski of Peabody, MA passed away peacefully one day following Eleanor on January 29, 2022. Eleanor is survived by her five children: three daughters, Eleanor Marquis of Derry, NH, Arlene Meaney of Salem, MA, Sharon Copelas and husband Christopher Copelas of Salem, MA, and two sons, Robert Tarnowski and wife Jacqueline Tarnowski of Salem, MA, and Brian Tarnowski and wife Catherine Tarnowski of Newfields, NH. Eleanor is survived by her grandchildren: Kerrie Moraites, Robin Farrin, Michael and Stephen Meaney, Amanda, Justin, and Diana Tarnowski, Alyssa and Kaitlin Copelas, and Joseph and Lydia Tarnowski as well as her great-grandchildren: Syrah, Jenny, Alec, Charlie, Landon, and Jack. Eleanor is survived by her sister Yvonne Martin of Peabody, MA, and predeceased by sisters Lillian Blasi, and Alma Prettink.
