Joseph F. Bucchanio of Falmouth, formerly of Franklin, MA, passed away peacefully after a brief illness at the age of 83 on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, with his granddaughter, Sabrina Bucchanio, by his side at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital - Milton. He was the husband of the late Sandra L. (Revell) Bucchanio for 47 years.
Born September 24, 1938, in Franklin, MA, Joseph was the son of the late Joseph and Mildred (Vendetti) Bucchanio.
Joseph was a graduate of Franklin High School, served in the United States Marine Corps, and later worked at Southwood Community Hospital, in Norfolk, MA.
He leaves his son, Joseph E. Bucchanio, and Gloria of Mashpee, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He also leaves his brothers, Peter and Ronald Bucchanio, his sister Marge D’Amelio, all of Franklin, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his daughters, Bette Ann (Bucchanio) Allen and Lisa M. (Bucchanio) Sawyer.
He also leaves his beloved friend Connie, whom he enjoyed playing bingo and going on adventures with.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours Wednesday Feb. 9th, in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. from 9-11AM.
A funeral service will follow at 11AM.
Interment with military honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
