Carol Anne (Sweeney) Mason, of Lowell, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at UMass Medical Center in Leominster after recent complications from pneumonia and ARDS.
A daughter of the late Armand A. Sweeney and the late Jacqueline H. (Hall) Sweeney, she was born February 5, 1957, in Lowell, and was raised and educated in the Pawtucketville Section of the City. She attended Ste. Jeanne D'arc Academy and later graduated from the Greater Lowell Vocational Technical High School.
She made her lifelong home in Lowell and was a member of the Lawrence Street Methodist Church. She enjoyed family gatherings, cookouts, and functions. In addition she loved playing Bingo, traveling, riding motorcycles, reading, and doing crossword puzzles.
She worked as a personal care assistant throughout the Greater Lowell area. She was also drove a taxi for a time in her younger years.
Her survivors include her children, Robert Sweeney and his wife, Laura, of Pepperell, Justin Sweeney and his wife, Britney, of George West, TX, and Michael Bedard and his wife, Krystal, of Nashua, NH; her grandchildren, Aiden, Lincoln, Jasmine, Kourtney and Kinsley; her brothers and sisters in law, Robert "Ben" Sweeney and his wife, of AZ, Paul Sweeney and his wife, Loretta, of OH, and David Sweeney and his wife, Margaret, of VT; her sisters in law, Ethel Sweeney of Townsend and Diana Trolls of Manchester; as well as many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.
She was also predeceased by her brothers, Norman Sweeney, Donald Sweeney and Arthur Sweeney and her sister in law Cheryl Sweeney.
In accordance with the City of Lowell mandate, masks are required during her visitation from 3 until 7 p.m. on Monday at the MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 Highland Street, Lowell 978-458-6816. Her Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
