Helen S. (Santina) Goodwin, age 82 of Brockton, died Jan. 31, 2022 at Baypointe Rehabilitation. She was the devoted wife of Ronald Goodwin for 52 years. Helen was born in Everett and raised in Brighton as the daughter of the late Andrew and Santina (Pennio) Seminerio.
After graduating from Brighton High School, Helen decided to pursue her calling to become a teacher and received her BA in Education from Gordon College. Helen’s career spanned almost 40 years as an elementary school teacher in the Newton and Brockton School Systems. Helen’s passion for teaching was unmatched and she was always thankful that she got to pursue her dream.
We will remember Helen for her outgoing, warm, “life of the party” personality. Helen was very proud of her Italian heritage and loved to cook and feed her family and friends. She will be remembered for being very passionate and protective about the ones she loved. We remember great times with her playing cards around the dinner table. She was always someone her friends and family could count on for advice or a shoulder to lean on. She will be missed.
In addition to her husband Ronald, Helen is survived by her two sons Andrew Goodwin and his wife Marcy Curtis of Marshfield and Michael Goodwin and his wife Michelle of N. Easton. She leaves three grandchildren Zachary, Faith and Gianna Goodwin. She was the sister of Steven Seminerio of Concord, MA and the late Ann DeSalvatore.
