Jorgjia (Batelli) Misa, 90, of Worcester, died Sunday, January 30th at home surrounded by her loving family. She joined her husband of 50 years, Klimi Misa who died in 1996. She is survived by her son, Petrit and two daughters, Ariana and Anila, a brother, Pandi and two sisters, Olga and Tefta. She also left behind her grandchildren, Teuta, Besa, Kreshnik, and Arber as well as many great grandchildren.
Jorgjia was born in Dardha, Korce, Albania as the daughter of Jani and Lefteri (Isaku) Batelli. She was a professional opera singer in Albania, who shared her majestic voice with audiences of many European countries. She also held concerts, for the Albanian community of Worcester, Massachusetts. Jorgjia will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother whose greatest joy was time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by all who loved and knew her.
Her funeral is Saturday, February 5th with her service at 10:30 a.m. in O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. A visitation will be held the morning of the funeral from 9:30 until the time of the service, in the funeral home.
