CHICOPEE – Shirley R. Hebert, 93, of Chicopee, entered into everlasting life on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born and educated in Holyoke on July 11, 1928 and grew up with her loving mother, Rhea and her step father, Herbert Roberts. Shirley was a stay-at-home mom who devoted her life to making a wonderful, fun-loving home for her family. She took every opportunity during her life to share her love and kindness by volunteering wherever and whenever needed. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee and was instrumental in helping to initiate the Sunday morning coffee and doughnut hour. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Rene Hebert; her step brother, Jerry Roberts; and her brothers-in-law, Leo Hebert and Grover “Don” Hundley. She is survived by her children, Sister Carol Hebert, SSJ of Holyoke, David Hebert and wife, Denise of Belchertown, Kathleen Hebert and Denise Descoteau of Holyoke and Daniel Hebert of Chicopee. She also leaves her cherished grandsons, Matthew Hebert and Craig Hebert and wife, Diem; her sister-in-law, Lorraine Hundley; and her two nephews. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, February 7, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (please meet directly at the Church). Her burial will be private at Sainte Rose Cemetery in Chicopee. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Masks are required for her services and her family requests that social distancing be observed at the Church.
