George Mulligan, 82, died peacefully on January 26, 2022 surrounded by members of his loving family.
George was born in Portland, ME, served his country in the US Army and was retail manager for a major department store for many years. In his retirement, George enjoyed black coffee with a good donut, playing cards, traveling, trying his luck at various casinos, bird watching and spending time with his family.
George showed amazing strength, courage and grace in all areas of his life but particularly when faced with life's challenges. His sense of humor was a shining characteristic of his personality and it touched people wherever he went.
Aside from being survived by his children, Doreen Hartigan, Robert and Lori Jordan and Shawn Mulligan, George aka Grampy was loved and adored by his grandchildren, Amanda and Justin, Robert and Rachael, Lindsey and Andy, Nicholas and Katie, Kira and Aaliyah. George was Grampy to seven great grandchildren and is also survived by his younger sister Janice and her husband John and his dear friends Nancy and Jerry who were always there to support, laugh with and help George in any capacity he needed.
The family will hold a celebration of life in George’s honor when the weather turns warm and the flowers bloom.
