Edward Anania, age 87, of Easton, died on January 20, 2022 at Good Samaritan Medical Center. Ed was the husband for 60 years of Virginia “Ginny” (Arnone) Anania. Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Macrina) Anania. Ed was a 1952 graduate of Brockton High and attended Boston University. During Korea, Ed served in the Army and was stationed in Germany.
For many years, Ed owned Anania Ltd. in Brockton, along with his father Joe and wife Ginny. He also owned Raggs, a clothing boutique. He owned and operated Off the Rack with his dear friend John Boyajian.
Unique unto himself, Ed enjoyed gourmet adventures to the North End with his friends and cruises to the Caribbean with his wife. He had a passion for music which included classical music, opera and Italian folk songs. He was an avid golfer and lifetime member of Thorny Lea Golf Club, where he was known as “Buckets.” Ed was also a longtime member of the Rotary Club in Brockton.
In addition to his wife Virginia, he is survived by his sisters Norma Twomey and her husband Robert of Naples, FL, Laura Previdi and her husband Peter of Orleans, MA and the late Rose Sampson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Ed’s life will be held in the Spring.
