Michael Kenneth "Mike" McKee, 73, of Anderson, died January 30, 2022, at Beaumont Healthcare & Rehab Center after an extended illness.
He was born September 3, 1948 in Beloit, Kansas, the son of Kenneth W. and Betty (Briney) McKee.
He was manager of Environment and Safety at Newport Military Site before retiring in 2010. He neutralized the nerve gas . He enjoyed woodworking and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Ann (Mason) McKee of Anderson whom he married October 19, 1974 in Anderson; his son, Anthony (Sara) McKee of Caledonia, Mississippi; two granddaughters, Elayna and Emma McKee; brother, William McKee of Fort Wayne and sister, Susan (Robert) Bales of Wichita, Kansas; In-laws, Bill Mason, Marietta Lutz and Raymond (Judy) Mason; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Stephen McKee.
Services will be 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Ned Clark officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the 2 p.m. service at the funeral home.
