Yolanda L. “Ellie” (D’Ovidio) Leon of Stoneham passed away on January 28th. She was 87. Ellie was a devote catholic and enjoyed attending masses at St. Patrick’s in Stoneham. She constantly thought of everyone and prayed for them daily. Ellie loved her family. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and especially her grandchildren.
Yolanda was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Emilia (DiGiovanni) D’Ovidio. She was the loving sister of the late Ida D’Ovidio, the late Frederick D’Ovidio and his wife Florence of Rochester, NY, Joseph D’Ovidio and his wife Nancy Busnach of Somerville, Richard D’Ovidio and his late wife Rosemarie of Medford, and the late Albert D’Ovidio and his late wife Elizabeth of Somerville. She was the loving mother to Michael Leon and his wife Kelly of Thronton, NH, Cynthia DelGatto and her husband Michael of Baldwin, NY, and Mark V. Leon and his fiancé Christine Paci of Naples, FL.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham, Friday, February 4th, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. In lieu of flowers contributions in Ellie’s name may be sent to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA, 02215.
