Wayne R, Sentance, 83, of Auburn, died Sunday, January 30th in the Life Care Center of Auburn after a brief illness. His wife of 52 years, Carol (Moore) Sentance died in 2005. He is survived by his son, Christopher J. Sentance and his wife, Amy of Charlton; his daughter, Kimberly Divris and her husband, Chris of Venice, FL; five grandchildren, Sarah Marion Divris, Julia Anne Divris, Connor, Brianne and Aedan Sentence and his godson, Warren Sentance, Jr. of Harwich. He was predeceased by his brother, Warren Sentance.
Wayne was born in Worcester, the son of Richard C. and Anne (Leovich) Sentance and had served in the United States Air Force National Guard. He was a graduate of Canterbury Street School, South High School, earned his Bachelor's Degree from Clark University and Master's Degree from Worcester State College. Wayne had worked for over thirty years as a teacher at the Raymond E. Shaw Millbury Middle School and had at one time taught in Connecticut and Auburn, before retiring. He was a member of the Quinebaug Lodge of Masons and the Clark University Alumni Association. He enjoyed collecting cars, attending car shows, and was a collector of rare clocks, wrist and pocket watches and enjoyed collecting coins and antiquing. His greatest joy was time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
His graveside funeral will be held Thursday, February 3rd at 11:00 a.m. in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn. There are no calling hours.
