WORCESTER — Elaine E. Baltas, 65, passed away on Sunday, January 29th after a brief illness. She is survived by her mother, Olga (Nichols) Baltas; two sisters, Susey Palamaris and her husband, Marco of Taunton, and Alexandra Odorski and her husband, Thomas of Worcester; her brother, Christo Baltas and his wife, Carolyn of Worcester, and the loves of her life, her eleven nieces and nephews. She enters life eternal to join her father, John Baltas and her sister, Maria Sahas.
Elaine was born and raised in Worcester, the oldest of five children born to her hard working immigrant parents, often times acting as an auxiliary parent for her younger siblings. She was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy in Worcester. Elaine left Worcester briefly, only to pursue her passion for education. She held her undergraduate degree from American University and her Law Degree from the New England School of Law, all of which she received on a reduced timeline because of her intellect. Elaine had worked for several political campaigns and as an Attorney and Staff Council for municipal and private businesses in Worcester. She will be remembered as a brilliant, witty, loving and caring woman, who touched more lives then her family may ever know.
Elaine's family would like to sincerely thank the doctors and nurses at UMass Memorial, as well as close neighbors and friends that helped her during her illness. Your grace is much appreciated.
Her funeral is Thursday, February 3rd at 11:00 a.m. in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Her calling hours will be held from 9:30 until the time of the service on Thursday in the Cathedral.
In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family with arrangements.
