Obituary

Kevin R. ”Swifty” Swift, 66 of Leicester, passed away on Wednesday, January 26th at UMASS Hospital.

Kevin was born in Worcester, MA on Feb 28, 1955, the son of the late Shirley (Knoll) and Walter A Swift. He leaves his sisters Maureen Jette and Kathy Swift-Kempfert and husband John Kempfert, both of Florida, a brother Shawn Swift of Worcester and close friends Lisa Lachance and Brenda Ross.

Kevin was a lifelong resident of Leicester and graduate of Leicester High School. He was a Union Iron Worker - Local 7 and was proud of his work.

One of Swifty’s last jobs as an Iron Worker was at Fenway Park. He was going to pass, too long of a ride. After pointing out IT’S FENWAY PARK, he took the job. A few days he was the self-appointed “King of Lansdown Street.”
He was a proud American; every day he flew the American flag.

Kevin was a member of the American Legion, Rod & Gun, and on Sundays’ the Pump House. Everywhere Kevin went he ran into someone he knew. And for the rest of us, everywhere we go someone knew Swifty.

At Kevin’s request there will not be services. Please have a Miller High Life (not that lite sh*t) and tell a “Swifty” story in his memory. Everyone who knew him has at least one story to share.
