Oscar R. Lemieux, 90, of Methuen, passed away on January 27, 2022, at Holy Family Hospital. The son of the late Jules and Adrienne (Gladue) Lemieux, he was born in Val Alain, P.Q. Canada on November 7, 1931 and moved to the Merrimack Valley when he was 10 years old. He served honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Lemieux retired from Western Electric where he worked as an assembler. He was a member of St. Lucy Church where he was an usher. Oscar was also a member of the Pioneers of America and volunteered as an assistant track coach, at his alma mater, Central Catholic High School in Lawrence for 20 years. Mr. Lemieux is pre-deceased by his granddaughter and little angel Emily Rose. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lillian I. (Silva) Lemieux of Methuen, two daughters Geraldine and her husband David Voisine of the Villages, FL, Michelle Lemieux and her fiancé Jim Spencer of Belfast, ME, one son, James Lemieux and his fiancée, Joy LaBelle, of Haverhill, and Sister-in-law, Anne Lemieux, of Methuen. He will be remembered a as wonderful Pépère to his eight grandchildren, and Grand-pépère to his six great-grandchildren. Oscar is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, February 3, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Edgar J. Racicot Inc. Funeral Home, 1400 Broadway Rd, Dracut. Mr. Lemieux’s funeral procession will begin on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 10:00 am at the Racicot Funeral Home.
