Carol Ann (Nelson) Carlsen, 83, of New Bedford passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the home of her loving daughter and caregiver Tammy and her husband Steve.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late William and Mildred (McGough) Nelson, she was a graduate of the New Bedford school system and lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was formerly employed by Polaroid Corporation for many years until her retirement.
Carol loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She also enjoyed watching the Patriots, car rides, reading, attending family gatherings and spending time with her loyal dog, Jinny.
In addition to her daughter, she is survived by her three sons, Robert and his wife Karen, Kurt and his wife Cheryl, and Eric and his wife Colleen; her brother, John Nelson; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Kathleen; her brother, William Bradford Nelson; and her best friend, Linda.

Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 9 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday, February 4th from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers donations in Carol's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
