Robert C. “Bobby” Morris, 88, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Friday, January 28, 2022, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Ocilla Cemetery, in Ocilla, Georgia, with the Rev. Robert Couey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the graveside.
Mr. Morris was born February 1, 1933, in Ocilla, Georgia, to the late Clyde Harvey & Lois Marie Wolfe Morris. He was a self-employed cabinet maker, owning and operating Morris Cabinet Shop for over 50 years. For the past 13 years, he worked with The Cabinet Warehouse. He will be constantly remembered by hundreds of families in Irwin and surrounding counties as they daily use the beautiful kitchen cabinets that he made for their homes. The deer population will rejoice to know that he is now in his Heavenly Home. He was dearly loved by his family. He was a longtime member of Ocilla Baptist Church and was a member of the Steadfast Seekers Sunday school class for 40 years and was also a member of the Ocilla Masonic Lodge # 134. He handcrafted the podium used his class. He loved working, especially building with his hands, and cherished the many friendships he made.
He is survived by his children: Marla Morris Marlowe of Tifton; son, Lee Morris of Ocilla; grandchildren: Robbie Morris, Cade Marlowe and Marlee Marlowe; and a brother-in-law, Chester Norton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Merritt Morris; and two sisters, Hilda Morris Paulk and Rose Morris Norton.
