Obituary

Worcester- Michelle Renee (Savageau) McKinstry, 55, passed away at home on Friday, January 28, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She leaves her beloved husband of 30 years Scott McKinstry; a loving daughter Sarah Whittle and her husband Chris; two adorable grandchildren Jameson and Dempsey, (AKA “The other one”), Whittle; and five siblings- Denise Page and her husband Daniel, Norman Savageau and his wife Meryl, Lorraine Finneran and her husband Bill, Luke Savageau, and Ralph Savageau. She was predeceased by her brother Robert Savageau.

Michelle was born in Worcester, daughter of Norman and Sondra (Holbrook) Savageau. She attended South High School in Worcester and graduated in 1984. After her daughter Sarah was born, Michelle wanted to follow her genuine desire for caring for others in need. Michelle attended Quinsigamond Community College and graduated with a certificate in Human Services in 1999. Her caring nature led her to work at U Mass Memorial University Campus Hospital where she worked in Food Services for over 10 years. This opportunity offered her the ability to comfort those grateful for the kindness and care she bestowed upon them.

She highly enjoyed taking road trips with her husband Scott and beloved dog Dyna. These adventures took the trio to several destinations across the US, Puerto Rico and Hawaii, allowing her to experience the wonder of the United States and left her with cherished memories that she reflected on until her the day of her passing. While her husband was working on these trips, Michelle and Dyna visited all the pet friendly parks and venues. Dog Beach, in San Diego, CA, was hands down their favorite.

As Michelle was an adventurous, quick witted and spirited soul. She immensely enjoyed riding Motorcycles. These experiences first started as a passenger on the back of her brother Norman’s Harley Davidson Road King. Michelle then took that experience solo on her very own Harley Davidson 883 Hugger. These solo rides took her to Moore State Park in Paxton where she would bask in the peacefulness of the landscape. Trips to the beach were always the go to destination when she wanted to simply get away and be a sun goddess for the day.

Michelle’s family and friends will carry her in their hearts until we all finally meet again. We know as much as we will miss her, she is in the comforting embracer of her mom Mother, Father and Brother. Until it is our turn, we’ll deeply miss her caring embrace, smart remarks and think fondly of the most genuine and loving of God’s creations.
