Obituary

BROOKFIELD/SPENCER: Beverly A. (Bostrom, Ruddy) Wentworth, 85, of Brookfield and formerly of Spencer, died Wednesday, Jan. 19 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She leaves her husband of 41 years, L. David Wentworth, her daughters; Carole Paquette and her husband Norman of Brookfield and Susan Mart and her husband Daniel of Modesto, CA, her son; Forrest Ruddy and his wife Kathleen of Tolland, CT, daughter in law; Mary Ruddy of Charlton; son in law George Hibbard of West Brookfield, step sons; Wayne Wentworth and his wife Kathleen of No.Smithfield, RI, and Scot Wentworth and his wife Gail of Scenevus, NY, sisters; Barbara Rhodes of Sun City, AZ, and Sandi Bostrom of Sturbridge, and her brother Charles Bostrom of San Diego, CA. Beverly was a proud grandmother of 20 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son John D. Ruddy, Jr. in 2021, a daughter Elaine Hibbard in 2020, a stepson Dale Wentworth in 2018, a great grandson Torin Nye in 2017 and a sister Elaine Grace in 1993.

Born in Millbury, she was the daughter of Herbert F. and Marion E. (Dostoler) Bostrom and lived in Hardwick and Spencer before moving to Brookfield. She was a graduate of Warren High School in Warren. She worked at Quabbin Regional High School as an aide in various departments. She was a medical secretary for Dr. Louis Grace of N. Brookfield for many years, retiring in 1985.

Beverly was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Spencer. She served on the Women's Fellowship, Sunlighters and spent countless hours volunteering in the Thrift Shop and helping put on catered dinners for fundraising.

She also belonged to the Spencer Garden Club and loved to share her plants for other people to enjoy. She enjoyed traveling and spent many summers in Newport, RI.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. in the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer on Saturday, February 12. Calling hours will precede the service from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery, Spencer. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to 1st Congregational Church of Spencer Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 187, Spencer MA 01562 or Care Central VNA & Hospice, 534 School St., Webster, MA 01570.
