Webster – Alice M. (Lavallee) Peters, 91, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at home in the presence of her family. Her husband of 37 years, Vangel “Bummy” Peters, died in 1996.
She leaves 2 sons, Gary P. Peters of Bonsall, CA and Gregory A. Peters, with whom she lived; a grandson, Daryl Peters; 2 great-grandsons, Jeffrey and Jamie; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brothers Lawrence and Gerard “Jerry” Lavallee and by her sister Jeanne Kozlowski.
She was born on May 29, 1930 in Webster, the youngest child of Napoleon and Alice (Pariseau) Lavallee and was a lifelong resident.
Mrs. Peters first worked as an inspector at Webster Lens Company. She was an upholstery cutter at Ethan Allen in Dudley for 10 years. She worked in home health care for 15 years for the VNA of Southern Worcester County, retiring in 1994.
Alice was a communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, a member of the Ladies of Saint Anne and a weekly adorer at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. She also belonged to the American Legion Post #184 Ladies Auxiliary. When she was raising her family, she particularly enjoyed camping in New Hampshire.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, February 3, from the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:30 AM Thursday morning in the funeral home prior to the Mass. Donations in her name may be made to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, 17 East Main Street, Webster, MA 01570.
