Virginia R. "Ginny" Adams, 91, of Windham, NH, died Thursday January 27, 2022 in her home. She was born in Cambridge, MA on August 4, 1930, a daughter of the late Joaquin and Virginia (Lindhares) Miranda. She had been a resident of Windham for over 20 years, formerly living in Hudson, NH, Tewksbury, MA and Cambridge, MA. Before her retirement, she was employed by DeMoulas Market Basket for 30 years; first as a receptionist, later as the secretary to the Executive Vice President in charge of Meat and Deli Operations. Following that, she maintained her secretarial duties and in addition served as the first woman in charge of purchasing and maintaining equipment in the Meat and Deli departments. She also assisted the bakery department as well. She enjoyed reading, donating blood platelets, traveling, and spending time with her dog “Buddyjac”. Virginia was a member of St. Kathryn Church in Hudson.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, John W. Adams of Windham; three daughters, Virginia C. (Michael) Imboden of WA, Tracy A. Russell of Hudson, and Cecile W. Adams of Hudson; two grandchildren, John S. Pappas and Courtney J. Russell; three great granddaughters, Samantha A. Pappas, Jacqueline M. Pappas, and Abigail Pappas; two great great granddaughters, Gia Cicero and Holly Pappas; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her infant son, Anthony Francis Adams, and her sister, Mary Donahue of St. Louis, MO.
Calling hours were held on Wednesday, February 2nd from 5 - 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, February 3rd at 10:00am in St. Kathryn Church, 4 Dracut Rd., Hudson. After cremation, she will be buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Hudson in the Spring.
