Diane grew up in Chelsea with her sister, mother, father and grandmother. Happy childhood memories consisted of cousins and relatives being together. She was a Chelsea High Devil. Then, she continued her education at Mt. Ida Junior College. In the executive training program at Jordan Marsh, she took steps toward her goal. It was there that she met many of her forever friends. She shared adventures and laughter with them as they traveled and enjoyed true bonds of friendship.
Extraordinary, dedicated, and strong, Diane pursued unprecedented goals as she worked her way from being a stock girl to becoming the first female executive merchandise manager for Jordan Marsh Company. Her illustrious career took her across the world and she valued travel and living life to the fullest. She demonstrated that with drive and perseverance anyone can achieve remarkable things.
Diane moved to Arlington where she lived for over 50 years. She created a loving home for her parents. Later, she welcomed her sister and her niece. To her niece, she provided the guidance and love of a mother, the playfulness of a sister, and the love of a best friend. Whether it was weekends at the cape, vacations, playing cards or just enjoying a cocktail on the porch, Diane made every moment count. Her great niece and nephew made her smile more than anyone. She provided daycare and play dates when they were little and was so proud and delighted to watch them grow up. She cherished their connection. She was a role model for all of them. Family gatherings with her whole family were her favorite. She approached each new day with a positive energy and found joy in the simple moments of just being with friends and loved ones.
She took care of her family with generosity, compassion, and sacrifice. She inspired everyone who knew her with unconditional love, and her fun-loving, adventurous spirit. Though she will be missed every day, she will live on forever in our hearts.
