Obituary

Albert ‘Ernie’ J. Bunker, age 82, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2022 after a brief illness. He was born at home on March 3, 1939 in Billerica, MA; he is one of 13 children of the late Edgar and Elizabeth C. (White) Bunker. He was a proud member of the Army National Guard for many years. He loved to be outdoors and was always on the go with a gypsy like nature. He enjoyed day trips to Revere Beach & Mohegan Sun. He was a man that did not come from much but gave all he had to those in need.

He is predeceased by his son, Jason Bunker of Lowell, MA. His remaining children, Ernest of East Hardwick, VT, John and Michael Bunker of Bangor, ME, Kathy (Bunker) Neveux and her husband, Kevin of Manchester, NH, Sharon Montminy and Brenda Cantres of Lowell, MA all survive him. Many grandchildren and several great grandchildren also survive him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the: Merrimack Valley Food Bank, 735 Broadway Street, Lowell, MA 01854.

In accordance with the city of Lowell mandate, masks are required. On Monday, January 31, 2022 all are welcome to attend his calling hours from 4-7 p.m. at the McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, MA 978-458-6816.

His funeral service with military honors will take place in the funeral home at 7 p.m.
