Michael Durso, age 94 of Brockton, died January 23, 2022 at Life Care of West Bridgewater after a period of failing health. He was the devoted husband of Mary (Gormley) Durso for 60 years. He was born and raised in Brockton a son of the late Nicholas and Constance (Uricola) Durso and was a 1945 graduate of Brockton High School. During WW II Mike served in the US Navy.
Mike was a self-employed food purveyor of produce and meats and was still working at the time of his death.
Mike enjoyed trips to the dog and horse tracks, bowling and gardening. He was a member of the Italian-American Club, Enterprise Club and member and past president of the Knight of Columbus Seville Council.
He will be remembered as a sociable man who loved his family and visits to Cape Cod Café where there is a bar stool with his name on it.
Mike is survived by his children Michael and his wife Eileen of Brockton, Daniel and his companion Kristen Turcotte, of N. Attleboro, Maryanne Peterson and her husband Michael of N. Easton, Margaret Pauline and her husband Ronald of W. Falmouth, Mark of Brockton and Nancy Sullivan and her companion John Pires of Brockton. He leaves 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and was the brother of Theresa Thomas of Falmouth, Blanche Taylor of Oregon and the late Mary Paul and Joanne “Phyllis” Dotten.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (123) Brockton on Monday Jan. 31, 2022 from 9-11 am.
