Barbara Louise (King) Donovan, 91, of Franklin died January 25 at Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Donovan who died in 2019.
Born in Boston, October 7, 1930, the daughter of the late George P. and Esther (Peabody) King, Barbara was raised in Boston and had lived in Franklin for over 40 years before retiring to North Carolina where she lived until recently retuning to Franklin.
She was a graduate of Girls Latin High School in Boston.
Barbara had been a vocational counselor at Wrentham Developmental Center for many years. She later worked for the Town of Franklin in the school system as a special needs teacher.
Barbara enjoyed crafts, especially painting, she also enjoyed camping and shopping.
She had been a member of the Red Hat Society and had been a longtime and active member of the Franklin Federated Church.
She is survived by her children, Donna Baker of Bellingham, Roberta Donovan Betts of Morganton, North Carolina, Karen Kelley of Plainville and Kim Burnett of Newport, New Hampshire.
She was the mother of the late Mark Donovan.
Barbara was the sister of the late Janet Bettlestone and was the grandmother of 16 and great-grandmother of 16.
Services will be private.
